Threading Paths

“Threading Paths” is a reflection of journeying on roads, lines of landscape, emerging paths, seasonal rhythm, scents and memories. Pieces from this collection serve as a canvas for stories told through painted and woven lines and symbols on textile and paper. These handcrafted details communicate the delicate balance between tradition and innovation, demonstrating a commitment to sustainability. Each shape and motif embody the beauty of imperfection, allowing them to speak transparently to the viewer.

The fibers chosen for these pieces are organic, reflecting a harmony with nature and a lightness that invites liberation. They connect the ancient with the contemporary, weaving a narrative of resilience and growth. "Threading Paths" is not just a collection, it is a celebration of our relationship with Earth, urging us to find new ways to exist within it, harmoniously and sustainably.

Melody Hesaraky developed part of this collection during her residency at RAMA Studios – located in the municipality of Torres Vedras, in the west part of Portugal. Aimed at research and experimentation by national and international artists, researchers and curators. RAMA promotes the interaction between professionals and the crossing of artistic practices, the sharing of experiences and knowledge, and relationship with the local community, culture, crafts and traditional knowledge, and with the region’s history and landscape.
