In Transit is exploring the relationship of bringing a physical body to Hesaraky’s paintings and illustrations. Within both, you can see they are inspired by movement, body forms, emotions, and what it means to reclaim our natural instincts as human beings. Melody Hesaraky started this project in New York City in the midst of the pandemic back in 2021. For about a week with model Kira Colney, they discussed pain, joy, fear, happiness, sadness and anger and their connection with body movement. They then began what would extend to four days of lockdown in Brooklyn. Here we got to experience self preservation, whilst still bringing the pen to warm skin instead of paper.
