Ancient Wisdom

Ancient Wisdom is a series of Melody Hesaraky’s paintings from 2020, honoring her Persian roots. The poetic dance of ink on her paper portraying history from the past. Ruins of Persepolis, Persian emperors and the queens. This series of paintings captures the essence of impermanence, reflecting on the transient nature of worldly status and material possessions. Each piece portrays scenes and objects that symbolize wealth, success, and societal standing.

The brush strokes vary in intensity, creating a stark contrast between vibrancy and dullness, mirroring the way our lives are filled with moments of brilliance that often dim over time. Personal artifacts in the paintings, like different motifs and patterns, evoke nostalgia, inviting viewers to consider what truly endures beyond physical possessions. Each painting serves as a reminder that while belongings may be amassed and lost, it is the memories created and the stories shared that remain.
